I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for forwarding me this scholarship. I am a recipient of the International Student Scholarship and as one of this year's recipients, I am grateful to the opportunities this award will provide me.

My name is Driss Gaieb and I am from Tunisia. I am an international student at Long Beach City College (LAC) majoring in Biology; my first semester was fall semester 2006. I am transferring to California State University Long Beach next semester (fall 2009), where I am looking forward to complete my Bachelor' Degree in Biology. The next step after getting my Bachelor's Degree is to transfer to a pharmacy school since my main goal is to get a Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree.

When I first arrived at Long Beach City College, I was a little lost because everything was so new to me. But the International Student Program welcomed me with open arms and simplified everything for me. Their program allowed me to find a place to live while I studied for my degree. They gave me a tour of the school and showed me all the important buildings. I was also able to make new friends. Moreover, they gave me a very clear idea about the policy and regulations of the school and they presented me with all the important information I needed such as job at the school and scholarships.

Everyone in the international program was very nice and helpful. Even though I was far away from home, I felt very comfortable and very welcomed.

I really appreciate your confidence in me again I am very thankful for your program for contributing to my future.
